David Hajdu has written a book about the early days of comics titled, The Ten-Cent Plague. More specifically, the book concentrates on the late 1940’s and early 1950’s when comics like CRIME and MENACE printed illustrated covers depicting cut throats and severed. Teens were buying 100 million copies a month.
